PostSubject: Help Me Watch BBUK   June 16th 2009, 4:54 pm

I have a question for all your techies, help !

OK, so you know how a few of us are into BBUK and that they are not allowing the episodes to be uploaded to youtube? Well, on this site RealityTVFan.org, she is uploading the daily shows using Mega Video. When you click on the video, an advert pops up and I don't know how to get to the video. Luckily someone else is not computer literate either and asked why he/she couldn't see the video. This was the response.

When you click the first time an advert opens, if you have your browser set to open new links in the same window it will take you away from the video.
Use a diff browser or temp set it to open new links in a new window/tab.
Hope that helps

Now, someone who knows what she is talking about would be able to get through this, but HELLO, it's me lol.

Here's the direct link to the BBUK page. I'm going to post this in the UK thread too, hopefully someone will be able to help me through this. Thanks Very Happy

Use a diff browser or temp set it to open new links in a new window/tab.

Is this what you need help with?

If it is, your browser ( Internet Explorer, Firefox, Chrome, etc) is probably set to where if you select a link, the link opens in the same window.

Somewhere on your browser ( I forgot where IE's is..I use chrome) it has a setting.. probably under options or preferences where you select "open links in a new window"

Well, I'm done trying, I totally give up lol. Maybe I'll ask someone at work if they can literally show me what to do cause I can't find anything on AOL. It only asks if I want to change my browser, ugh... I'm afraid to touch anything because I have FIOS and I never use my Verizon acct. geek

There's a icon at the bottom of the AOL screen called "window" that when pulled down it says "new browser window", when I click on that Verizon opens, but nothing happens. I'm still at square one.

Thanks so much for trying Nancy, I appreciate it, I suck!

lol! I know, so many people have told me that since I have Verizon, why don't I use it. I'm just lazy I guess, bringing over all my favorites, changing my email addy, aim, etc. I'm so used to everything here on AOL. I've been using it since the dial up days lol.

I don't know wth I did last night, but it's not good. So many things were popping up this morning, I've created a mess Evil or Very Mad

Jack'd my friend, you can keep your AOL email, you can export your favs to another browser/tooldbar, and you can always keep AIM. Just change the browser.

Here at my home, we have 3 browser preferences for 3 users, I prefer Mozilla Firefox, another like the crappy Qwest one, and another uses Internet Explorer, and we all have the same DSL provider and use the same computers! We all have our favs, we all our own email addys via various providers (I use gmail, and have all other addys forwarded to the gmail addy, and I have 4 of them...goes way back ` Earthlink, Hotmail(3 accts), MSN and Gmail).

I know you can do it...AOL is highly protective and intrusive. AOL doesn't allow you to think, it assume you don't. hahaha

Try another browser, read the FAQs, and see if it helps. Let me if I can help ya out Smile
