my carlos, so sad. I guess I can't watch LCK either because they are keeping it a secret until the finale, right?

I haven't been watching LCK, so I don't know, but you're probably right since they did that last time. I thought for sure Nicholas was leaving. OMG if he wins the whole thing...I don't know what I'll do. Right now it looks like it will be between Nina and Shirley. You never know what could happen.

I think it's cool they are going to Hawaii.

Oh and at least Carlos won a car Smile

Yes, I watched Last Chance Kitchen ... fast forwarded to the end and they aren't showing it.
I was sad about Carlos too.

I think Carlos won.I read in the Chicago paper today that.....Carlos rest is here.A reporter went to his rest and watched him go to each table and greet all.The reporter then talk to Carlos about the ending of
''Last Chane'' Carlos said'' keep watching'' and had a big smile.I think he won..

It wouldn't surprise me if he did because Nicholas' reaction, in the preview, was a pissed one †lol!

Hugh Acheson wrote this in his blog on the Bravo site:
Talking about Nick... I can tell he doesn't much care for Nick
--------------
ENOUGH WITH THE "CARLOS JUST DOES MEXICAN FOOD"! Look, American food is a toddler in the world of food, still falling all over itself trying to grow up. Mexican food has roots and breadth that we are just now trying to nurture. Why is Mexican food being posited as a narrow scope by these chefs? This really is beginning to bug the hell out of me. But, alas, I am not there. I am probably eating a po' boy at Parasolís.

Oh and at the end of the blog he writes:

Dear Carlos,

You have shown your mettle through the entire season, but more than that, through your entire life. Go far in this world, and never let them tell you not to cook Mexican food.

All the best,
Hugh

Go Hugh! I agree. I don't see anyone making a stink about Shirley's style of cooking. And she has admittedly said that she's going back to what she knows...my guess is Asian cooking. For the record, I have never eaten a seafood tamale. It has always been pork, bean, cheese, or sweet. So I saw his dish as a variation of what he knows and what he had experienced in NO.

I hated this episode. Carlos didn't win LCK and then Nicholas makes it to the final 2 with Nina. I didn't really hate it, but I was †cussing†that Shirley didn't make it to the end. Oh and I love sweet potatoes Smile

I've loved Top Chef being in New Orleans - seemed like a fun time for the judges (not so much for the contestants!). I am disappointed that it's not a woman vs. woman finale - So wanted Nina vs. Shirley. Nina better win! Shirley came so far!

agreed nancy. I use to like Tom, not so much over the past few years. I wish Emeril would take his spot.
Nick is a local boy also here in Philly, with a fairly new restaurant. I am sure it will blow up over the next few weeks.
I still dont like him

Thanks bergen. I agree with everything that was in that recap.

From what I saw on twitter last night, people were mad at this outcome.
