Subject: NHL Hockey ~ Stanley Cup Sat Apr 12, 2008 9:25 am

Anyone else interested in HOCKEY??

I of course am rooting for the Anaheim Ducks (Defending Stanley Cup Champs) cheers

Game two is tonight against the Dallas Stars. The first game I dont think the Ducks even showed up to play. Dallas won 4 - 0, scoring all their goals on powerplays.

Hey, breezy, I LOVE hockey!!! I'm a Detroit Hockeytown girl and my heart belongs to the Red Wings. We'd love to see the Ducks in the finals! cheers

Breezy, are you from CA? Giguere is one of my favorite goalies. I was happy for the Ducks when they won last year.

Now now, you gals know that the Wings and the Ducks can't meet in the final. (They both play in the same division) I'm a die hard Ottawa Senators fan but I don't think my boys are getting out of the first round this year so I guess I'll cheer for Montreal after Ottawa goes down. (after I take a few days leave of absence, of course. Ha) Maybe Montreal could be in the final against Detroit or Anaheim. That would be cool.

He he... After all these years I still have trouble remembering that the Detroit, MI team is part of the WESTERN division!

Whichever round it'd in... I'd still enjoy watching a Wings/Ducks series.

I love the Toronto Maple Leafs but they are not going anywhere this year (just like many past seasons). Once they are out I usually root for Ottawa or Montreal if either of those teams are still in.

I'm also a Leafs fan. (which is difficult a times LOL!!) I'm rooting for Montreal now.

My Ducks are 0-2 going into Dallas.

If they don't make it, then I will be rooting on San Jose (gotta stay in the Western Conference)

Well, I like the idea of Montreal being in the final, but I'm all for the Flames representing the west. All Canadian Cup Final!

It's 2-1 Calgary right now in the third. If they win this one, they're leading the series 3-1, vs. San Jose.

Awwww Katie - I was worked up watching that! Iginla's my second favourite NHL player (after Mike Fisher of course). lol!

Looks like my boys are probably going to go down tonight so I'll be supporting Montreal and Calgary after my brief mourning period.

Breezy - so sorry about the Ducks girl. I felt for you last night as I was watching them go down. I know exactly how you feel - I was in mourning for a few days last week after Ottawa lost their series. There's always next year, right? (The eternal credo of the obsessed hockey fan! Lol)
Props to Detroit sweetcheeks! Doncha just love Chelios? I just gotta adore a rock-hard man close to my age who can still give all the young pups a lesson or two on how to man-up when it counts!

My 19 year old grandson played travel hockey all over Michigan for several years, and my two granddaughters also play, so we are a hockey family.

Jessie! Game 6 was awesome from the Flames -- a good solid game. That's the playoff team that I like... unfortunately they seem to have lost that so far tonight. They need to get it back and really pour it on in the third if they want to have a chance to win here.

Go Montreal last night, and in their next series.

Awwww Katie Marie - that was tough to watch. Condolences girl. I guess you're now officially joining Breezy and me in the "there's always next year" camp.
I'm now hoping Detroit comes out of the Western conference to meet Montreal in the final. I've watched Carey Price since junior hockey and he amazes me. Have you ever seen a 20 year old goalie play with such calm intensity in a game 7 and throw down a shut out to boot? Awesome.
