Kyle Busch Executes $5,000 Splash 'n Go

Posted Mar 2nd 2009 11:55AM by TMZ Staff
This is why NASCAR fans call him Wild Thing...

Kyle
Busch scored a victory in his hometown of Las Vegas Sunday, and
celebrated by shelling out over $5,000 on 10 bottles of champagne at
Body English in the Hard Rock.

And, from the looks of it, Kyle had no problem sharing the bubbly.

Wow and that was only for a win LOL

Thanks for the updates ice! LV was a weird race... lots of debris on the course... seemed the trucks weren't doing the job well enough... I would have had a crew with brooms and vac's out there LOL... Only a few cautions until the end of the race. Felt bad for Jeff but he still managed to get back to 6th!

Nice to see Kurt win one instead of little bro. Jeff Gordon is getting closer to a win. Nice to see him at the top of the points.

It's still early Kimmie. I'll run hot and cold depending on the chase. If it looks all nice and neat, the races will be hit or miss. If there's a dark horse in contention, I'd like to see how the usual frontrunners contend with him on the track.

Me, too! Me, too! This is the first time I've ever met anyone who was a fan of Jeff Gordon. I usually stick to the 'Hendrick's Team' line when discussing Nascar. Talk about 'Claymates' being vicious LOL

Bristol works to preserve sellout streak

CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- For the first time in more than 13 years Bristol Motor
Speedway is advertising tickets for a Sprint Cup race.Tough
economic times have forced many of the corporate partners that
purchased blocks of seats not to renew for what is known as NASCAR's
toughest ticket. That puts Bristol's string of 53 consecutive sellouts in jeopardy for
the March 22 race, all though general manager Jeff Byrd is optimistic
the streak will continue based on the current sales pattern.
Byrd would not comment on the number of tickets available, but he was
excited about the potential for fans that never have seen a Bristol
race to attend.
"It's forced everybody in the industry to re-examine everything we
do,'' Byrd said of the economy. "So in a way it's been a very healthy
exercise for us.''
Bristol has 160,000 seats, including 197 skyboxes that are almost twice
as many as most tracks on the circuit. The "World's Fastest Half Mile
Track'' and Richmond International Speedway were the only two with a
waiting list for tickets before this season.
"The economy is a concern to all of us, but it has probably impacted
Bristol less than any other racetrack,'' Byrd said. "With the tickets
we've sold already we're already assured the third- or fourth-largest
crowd of the year, only depending on what the Sharpie 500 does in
August.
"And I can pretty much tell you what that's going to do.''
The Sharpie 500, the summer night race at Bristol, has been even a
tougher ticket than
the spring race, despite the fact that only
Indianapolis Motor Speedway, Daytona International Speedway
and Lowe's
Motor Speedway have more grandstand seats. If one or both of Bristol's
races
sell out, the track could claim one or two of the biggest crowds
of the season.

None of the first four races have been sellouts. Daytona came close,
but track
president Robin Braig said it would not be fair to call the
Daytona 500 a sellout
since many tickets were discounted and some were
given away to track employees.
There were crowd estimates of 75,000 or
less last weekend at Atlanta Motor Speedway,
which seats over 125,000.

yrd and others in the community have moved to guarantee more
activities and driver participation at the track. The Friday night
festival that typically took place in downtown Bristol has been moved
to the track with more high-profile drivers than ever participating Tony Stewart and Kevin Harvick, for example, are scheduled to participate in "Rock Band.''The cost for that and every any other event that day, including qualifying, is $5 or a specially-marked Pepsi can.Following
Saturday night's Nationwide Series race will be a Legends car race
including NASCAR greats Cale Yarborough, Junior Johnson and Harry Gant."[The economy] has caused us to look at value at every turn,'' Byrd said. "The total emphasis is going to be on the fans.''

OK now we are talking Nascar at its worse and best...BRISTOL baby!

WOOHOO! Short track to the extreme. I hope the weather holds up. I am so excited!

BTW: My Mom got offered some Bristol tickets the August race. I told her I would disown her if she doesn't find a way to go. Her and Dad are hemmin' and hawing' about money, and I argue, oh screw the phone bill etc...GO TO BRISTOL!

I have been fantasy racing again this season, and the results are crazy this year! I didn't do so good the first ra ces, but I am making a strong to quite strong comeback. This year my brother joined our league, so I have extra pressure to beat him!

Bristol on-track action features Special night race
Bristol Motor Speedway will be the epicenter of Thunder Valley this
weekend, and while the Sprint Cup Series race on Sunday is the main
event, the "Saturday Night Special" -- a 50-lap event with legendary
drivers and celebrity partners -- is expected to be and old-fashioned
sheet-metal-bending shootout.

"This has been a very interesting process," said Jeff Byrd,
president and general manager of BMS. "All of these guys have had a lot
of fun with this and that is what we wanted. But we wanted the fans to
have fun with it even more." The celebrity drivers will run
15-lap heats to determine the order of the inside and outside starting
rows of the 35-lap legend drivers event. The winning team
receives $25,000 for its charities; $10,000 will go to the second-place
team's charities. Each other team will get $5,000 for charities.
The Saturday Night Special will take place after the Nationwide Series race and the 100-lap UARA late model event.

Marlin wins Saturday night legends race in Bristol

BRISTOL, Tenn. -- Sterling Marlin won the "Saturday Night Special" legends race at Bristol Motor Speedway on Saturday. Marlin led all 35 laps of the charity race and beat Rusty Wallace and 70-year-old L.D. Ottinger to the finish line. Terry Labonte was fourth and Jimmy Spencer fifth.
Marlin collected $25,000 with the win to donate to charity. He also will race in the Cup Series event Sunday. The event teamed past winners at Bristol with a "celebrity." The
celebrities ran an earlier heat race that set the starting field for
the main event. Marlin's partner was ESPN analyst and former crew chief Andy Petree, who won his heat to give Marlin the pole. Philadelphia Eagles kicker David Akers won his heat to give Harry Gant an upfront starting spot, but Gant had early car damage and ran most of the race without a hood on his car. Wallace was teamed with Ray Evernham, who wrecked when he spun trying to pass Petree in their heat. Other former NASCAR greats in the race were Cale Yarborough and Junior Johnson.

Bristol sells out Food City 500 to keep streak intact

RISTOL, Tenn. -- Make it 54 in a row. Bristol Motor Speedway
has sold out for Sunday's Food City 500, track officials announced,
extending the longest sellout streak in NASCAR to 54 consecutive
events. The half-mile facility, which now holds 160,000 seats, has sold
out every race since its fall event in 1982. The most recent sellout
became official on Saturday. But it didn't happen easily.
Because of the economic recession, corporate sponsors turned in many of
their tickets, forcing the track to sell more seats than usual and
placing the sellout streak in jeopardy. This year marked the first time
that Bristol race tickets had been available to the general public
since parent company Speedway Motorsports Inc. purchased the track in
1996. The sellout is the second this year in NASCAR. The Daytona 500 announced a grandstand sellout the night before the race.
