Hi Jack'd~

I read most of my info from links at GWOP and postings from folks who were at the churches. But I actually first read about the offerings on Larry King's message board on the CNN site. Kate had appeared on Larry King to discuss Octomom and there were alot of angry messages about them scamming money and freebies even before the kids were born. I was very surprised at the level of anger and then realized many of them were from PA and know alot more about the Gosselins than I do. Many dropped links from local papers and they're pretty disliked back home. One paper quoted Kate as saying that since society allows fertility procedures that lead to multiples then society should pay for them.

I've read article after article with my jaw open at how they got this or that free and not only don't appreciate it but will belittle it and expect more. The thing that strikes me is NO friends or family members ever come out to deny the stories and stick up for J & K. Only fans of the show defend them. I've never seen any family member or friend of Kate's defend her and say it's not true. She has 3 or 4 sisters...where are they? Why didn't they counter Aunt Jodi's blog?

I compared Kate to Octomom because I think alot of the stuff Octomom gets criticized for (getting a publicist, wanting a reality show, using the babies for fame and money, expecting freebies, etc) is exactly what Kate did but the media sees Kate as a supermom while blasting Nadya. Everything Nadya expected to get out of those babies, J & K got. I think they're all shameful. Children are blessing from God, not tickets to fame and fortune. The Gosselin children are the breadwinners for Mom and Dad and I doubt the money and perks will still be around for the kids to enjoy when they're adults.

I've heard the rumors about their marriage too. I don't know if true but it certainly wouldn't surprise me. Kate travels alot now and Jon has a condo in Utah. They act like they can barely stand to be in the same room anymore.

As I was waiting in line at the grocery store this evening, I saw that the STAR magazine has a headline that says...Jon and Kate Scandal: His Nights with Coeds!
I've watched a few of their shows and just think those kids are adorable! Kate seems a little too intense...always on Jon about one thing or another. It's the kids I feel the worst for if the stories that have been posted are true.

All these stories are so bizarre.
I love watching this show because of the adorable children.

The other night I was watching it in bed and they were all on a vacation and Kate said something that creeped me out.
They were taking all the kids on a day trip and Mady wasn't with them so Kate explained that she was acting up so they left her behind because "she didn't want Mady to spread her ugliness"....what the heck????
Do Moms really say that? I know kids can act up and get in trouble but would a mom really refer to her child's tantrums as "her ugliness".

I watched this show for the first time last night. I had recorded a couple of episodes since you guys have talked about it a lot. I saw the Hawaii trip and the getting 2 new puppies episodes. First impression, Kate seems VERY controlling, wouldn't even let the kids name the puppies. To me, that was sad. Husband seemed not to happy with her during both episodes.

If you think Kate was controlling in those episodes, you have only seen the tip of the iceberg. There have been many appalling Kate moments but,as I read somewhere, that may be part of the appeal of the show to some folks.

Kate flips out a lot even on the show which leads me to believe the behind the scenes accounts of her behavior. Two very memorable incidents stand out in my mind:

1) they took the kids to Disneyworld when the sextuplets were 3 (so the twins were 6/7) and at some point the kids wanted a snack. They got ice cream and one of the little girls spilled some vanilla ice cream on her shirt. Kate started screaming "She's ruined, she's ruined." She totally flipped out because the little one had some ice cream on her and they didn't have a change of clothes handy (of course, if Kate had changed one, she would have had to change them all because the kids are always dressed in amtching outfits). Then Kate is screaming at Jon and the kids start to get upset because they are not allowed to hold the ice cream anymore.

2) another time they were in Toys R US with all the kids. They were both in the front of store at the checkout counters though Jon was several checkers away from Kate. She started screaming at her husband to "get over here and stop playing with toys.' Everyone was looking at her. When they were loading the car, Jon told Kate, she made him feel like a dog.

Thanks Jfan, I might have to watch a few more episodes. Amazes me how people can live their lives in a fishbowl, but I sure like watching the fishies swimming around!

Thanks Jfan, I was just catching up on this thread and was about to post the Toy R Us incident when you beat me to it. Wasn't that something? and the slaps she gives him across his face that she calls love taps, unbelievable.

I was at the check out of the grocery store today waiting on Mom to finish shopping and I was catching up on all the dirt. One of the mags had that Jon & Kate were back together, that Jon had come home after staying with his Mom to help her while she recoved from either knee or hip replacement surgery (I can't remember now which it was) and that's how he was able to go out on the town and party with the co-eds. What I don't understand is that Jon's Mom lives in Hawaii so what the heck was she doing in PA? I know he also has a step father too so why wasn't he taking care of his wife, the whole thing is screwy to me.

Jfan gave some great examples of Kate's meltdowns, but there are a couple others that broke my heart. One, when Jon and Kate left for LA for Jon's FREE hairplugs when ALL their kids were sick with flu. Good ole Aunt Jodi had 12 kids (4 her own) and 9 of them had flu. Can you imagine leaving your 8 sick children for 3 days for something trivial like hair plugs? Another time, Joel got sick and vomited on his comforter. Kate complains of the extra laundry in front of him and lays him on the laundry room floor so he won't "ruin" anything else. When Jon checks in on him, he's burning up, but do they pick him up and comfort him? Nope, leave him alone on the floor and close the door. Another, when Aunt Jodi gave the kids some gum at her house. Some got on Joel's sock and some on Collins teddybear. Kate went ballistic when she saw the gum! Yanked Joel's sock off angrily and told Collin she was throwing away his teddybear. Poor Collin was crying hysterically while Kate screamed...even Mady stepped in for that one. The theory as to why Kate goes ballistic over ice-cream or gum getting on their clothes is because she sells all their clothing at a consignment store once they're done with it. If it's "ruined" she won't get as much for them. This is clothing that GAP and Gymboree give them FREE. J & K originally said they'd give all the donated clothing and baby items to other families with multiples once they didn't need it.

Has anyone seen the new promo for the upcoming show on Mon or Tues?? Sounds like they (Jon and Kate) may address some of the rumors. If not its a ploy to keep people watching and they reveal nothing.

Mady in braces? Isn't she kind of young for that? I thought all of the baby teeth had to out for that. She's only 8 or so.

I don't know about the braces thatgirl. My one daughter has an expander already to make room for her incoming adult teeth.

I watched last night and thought the episode where Jon and Cara are away in Utah and Kate is home alone with the other 7 last night. I found the two of them Jon and Kate very awkward together.

Does anybody know what Kate's job is now I know she used to be a nurse but what is she doing now?

She speaks at different events. She's flown there, put up for the time she's there, speaks to the audience and then home again. She also is doing book signing tours for their new book.

I watched the last 5 minutes of the "surprise ending" lol, basically it's about the TV show and Jon's now role of being a stay at home dad (Kate worded it as works from home) vs. Kate's travels. She loves it, he hates it and seems, he wants out of the situation (TV show). Jon just wants to be a regular family again, hates that he can't be "Jon" anymore, but rather always being seen as "Jon & Kate Plus 8". She said that they have a lot to talk about during this break (season 4/season 5). She did say "I love it" where Jon doesn't. Jon made mention of how he can't go out anymore for a drink without someone taking his picture, guess that was about the tabloid reports. It was really quite telling, and it seemed to me that this is taking a big toll on their marriage.

When asked about their relationship, Kate Gosselin told our camera "We're good."
