| Forget the Thanksgiving parade, 'Glee' cast will sing at World Series They may not be able to sing in the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade on NBC, but the cast of Fox's "Glee" will get to strut their stuff during the World Series. Fox has confirmed that cast members from its new hit musical comedy "Glee" will sing the national anthem during Game 3 of the World Series, currently scheduled for Oct. 31. That game will be either in Los Angeles or Philadephia, depending on which team ends up in the series against either the Yankees or the Angels. Fox had to get a green light from Major League Baseball to have the cast sing at the game. Networks often use the World Series and other big sporting events to promote their own entertainment shows, but it is unusual to actually have a cast of a show perform during the game. Of course, few probably have the chops to do it. At least we know they'll do better than Roseanne Barr did when she butchered the anthem during a San Diego Padres ballgame. Earlier this week, NBC pulled back an invitation that had been extended to the "Glee" cast to sing during the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade, which the network has the rights to air. |

Me too! Puck (Noah) was totally adorable singing tonight. Why couldn't there have been guys like that when I was in high school? **sigh** |

| If all you Gleeks have been praying to hear some Madonna on Glee, then hold on to your sheet music. The Material Girl has given the Fox series the rights to her catalog for an all-Madonna-themed episode in the works for early next year, according to Entertainment Weekly. Series creator Ryan Murphy also told the magazine he's considering approaching American Idol runner-up Adam Lambert about a guest appearance, but nothing is official. Meanwhile, Murphy, clearly still bitter about NBC nixing a Glee float in the Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade, may use the incident in an upcoming episode in which the glee club is denied a spring festival float by arch nemesis Sue Sylvester. A Fox spokesperson said the network wouldn't comment on upcoming story lines. http://www.tvguide.com/News/Madonna-Grants-Music-1011161.aspx?rss=breakingnews |

| "Don't Stop Believing" in a Glee tour, because executive producer Ryan Murphy says it's a go next summer. Following the Season 1 wrap-up, the Glee club is going on tour. "We're going to do what American Idol has done and put the kids on the road," Murphy told the New York Post. "It all equals revenue streams for Fox." With five of Glee's songs already on the iTunes top 100 list and the first of five CDs set to drop on Nov. 3, it was only a matter of time before the club hit the road. |

| November 'Sue Sylvester' spoiler: | Spoiler: | | | Fox's Glee won't be returning with new episodes until November, but the coming-soon scenes sure revealed a lot. In case you missed it, Will says that Sue Sylvester (Jane Lynch) is planning something so evil, it could cost the club a win at sectionals. TVGuide.com got the lowdown from Matthew Morrison.
"Sue's going to give our set list to the other teams," says Morrison. "They're going to do our songs ... before we do them, so it's going to make us look like we're copying them."
Caught off guard by this deception, the club must step up their game. "We have to do this impromptu thing and fly by the seat of our pants," adds Morrison.
Will glee make an amazing comeback and win? |

| This week's cover: Why America is falling for 'Glee'This season’s most unexpected success story, Glee is snarky, theatrical, totally addictive — and a cult phenomenon on its way to becoming a national obsession. The comedy is currently averaging a steady 8 million viewers a week, and the people watching are enviably young: Five million of its viewers are in the desirable 18–49 demo. (It’s little wonder that in September, Fox made Glee the first new fall series to be given a full 22-episode pickup.) Meanwhile, fans are staying engaged even after the episodes are over by downloading the cast’s newest cover tunes. More than 1.7 million Glee songs have been sold since May, and that’s after only seven episodes. “I thought it would be a huge project, but I didn’t know it would be this big,” says Rob Stringer, chairman of Columbia/Epic, Glee’s label. “The public appetite for this music is incredibly intense.” Adds the comedy’s co-creator Ryan Murphy ( Nip/Tuck), “It seems to have transcended just being a television show to moving into other cultural areas.” The number of die-hard Glee fans — or “Gleeks,” as they call themselves — is bound to grow early next year, when episodes will follow American Idol. The young cast of newcomers is already beginning to see the effects of Glee mania. “I was at Disneyland yesterday — big mistake,” says Chris Colfer, who plays gay fashionista Kurt. “I might as well have walked around with a target on my shirt, because those are our fans. I stopped and took pictures probably 40 times in between rides. This one lady got a picture of me on the Tower of Terror and had me sign it.” Says co-creator Brad Falchuk, “I keep getting e-mails and phone calls and running into people at parties just telling me the show makes them feel happy.” For more on Glee — including scoop on upcoming episodes, a spotlight on the hilarious Jane Lynch (Coach Sue), and an inside look at Glee ’s budding musical empire—pick up the new issue of Entertainment Weekly, on stands Friday, October 23. |
