| Who would have thunk football would bring Matt's mom and grandma together. That was a good scene. LOL at Mindy and Lyla bonding over their loser boyfriends, even though I knew they'd go back to them in the morning. Still very realistic. I like seeing Riggins and Lyla. Coach and principal are still the best couple on tv! Can't wait for next weeks episode!! |

That was great and i especially loved that last scene with Riggins and Lyla. The only thing i haven't cared for all season is Tyra's storyline with Cash but that looks to be ending. Very good epsiode this week. |

| The sex talk between Julie and her mom made me cry. It was handled very very well. And when Julie told Lyla that she didn't feel like 'daddy's little girl' anymore, I wanted to hug her. I'm glad Landry finally stood up for himself. Lyla telling off her father was a great scene. Riggins kind of protecting her afterwards was pretty sweet. |

It was - you could just feel the awkwardness of it. I'm glad Landry stood up for himself too and that it seems like Tyra will realize what a good thing she had. Coach was pretty great in this episode - talking to Matt and the end at the game. |

| I wish the show and the actors would get some recognition from the Emmy's or Golden Globes. It so deserves something. |

It really does.. If it gets canceled after this great season, there is something wrong with the world! |

| Nice moment with Tyra and her mom this week. They've certainly had the tear jerkers lately. I figured that JD's father would end up being physically abusive. Especially with the submissive wife. This really pulls on my heartstrings. I didn't like Coach turn a blind eye to the shady redistricting..his chat with Buddy..Buddy has slowly become a darker, more cutthroat character this season to me. |

| I saw JD's father heading in that direction. The fight between father and son wasn't a surprise, but it was still disturbing. You never want to see that, but you know it happens in real life. Tyra and her mom did have a great moment. I agree about Buddy. I think the problem with him is about power. Too bad he's losing his family in the process. Oh and I <3 Tim Riggins. He is such a sweet character. And I felt bad for Matt and his grandmother. I also like how he is slowly able to see, by actions and not words, that his mother really wants to be there for him. I can't believe only 2 more episodes! What 3 weeks before it returns again? That's a long time. |

| FNL is starting on NBC on the 16th. If you have been watching it on Direct TV, you have already seen the shows. (There is one final show for this season on next week.) Even though I have already seen it, I'll probably rewatch the season again on NBC. Love FNL. Hope they bring it back, but it looks doubtful! _________________ "Remember yesterday, dream about tomorrow, but live for today"

| Thanks rc! NBC really pulls the plug too early on good shows... in fact, all the networks do IMO. Maybe this will give it a second... third life |

| Things i liked about the latest episode - that scene at the game with Julie and Grandma Saracen about not wanting to lose Matt and that fact that they actually lost state. I must have not been paying enough attention, what did Riggins do on the field at the end of the episode? |

| So I finally watched last week's episode, even if I didn't like the links. But something is much better than nothing. I really liked the time they devoted to Tyra this episode. I liked the ending of the game. It was appropriate. It seems the show is coming to an end, but I hope I'm wrong. I want another season. I wonder if this show could ever have a spin-off. There are so many you could do. Spin-off's never work and are usually lame, so maybe that isn't such a great idea.

| So i watched the last episode.. Although, i think they gave everyone a good path, it felt a little rushed. They had to squeeze in too much. I liked that Matt stayed, grandma was kind of breaking my heart, telling him she would be fine. I guess i didn't realize that Julie was suppose to be younger than them, they've messed with their ages a little bit along the way. I thought it was cute that he told her no to her break up speech. I love the Riggins brothers, "Where's the me time, Billy?" Mindy and Billy's wedding was funny with the angel wings, the cowboys hats, the wedding singers. Glad Tyra got into her college, and Landry told her to drop the poor me stuff. The last scene was a good way to end it. |

| This article was in today's paper here in Houston: FNL creator Berg fights for his seriesBy ANDREW DANSBY Copyright 2008 Houston ChronicleJan. 15, 2009, 6:23PM Columbia Pictures | MCT Peter Berg directed the film version of Friday Night Lights and went on to develop it into a fictional TV show. FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS • When: Season three begins again at 8 tonight on NBC Channel 2. The first time I noticed Peter Berg was in The Last Seduction , a film where his bumbling character is devoured, manipulated and disposed of by Linda Fiorentino’s relentlessly cunning con woman. Berg has been acting for more than two decades. Twelve years ago he did some writing and directing for Chicago Hope , the TV drama in which he also starred. Today Berg is better known for his work behind the camera on films such as Hancock and The Kingdom . He got a big break with the film Friday Night Lights , the 2006 adaptation of his cousin H.G. “Buzz” Bissinger’s book about Odessa and the Permian Panther football team. Berg developed the story into a fictional TV show with the same name, which has been beloved by a dedicated few. He talks briefly about the show’s future as well as Wonderland , a TV show he began in 2000 that was canceled after one episode. Its eight episodes began airing Wednesday on DirecTV’s The 101 Network.Q: Do you like your odds for a fourth season of Friday Night Lights?A: I’m optimistic we’ll be picked up. But you never know. I’m in a cab in New York right now going to talk to Jeff Zucker (at NBC). It’s always a constant battle with Friday Night Lights. We’ll have a frank conversation. I could probably give you a better idea in about 20 minutes. Q: The show always seems to be fighting for survival.A: Yes, and we’ll keep fighting. Every year the actors move out of Austin (the show is shot in Del Valle), and they worry they’re not coming back. I love making the phone calls to tell them they’re coming back. But it’s a competitive time right now, for all shows. Q: And this one is fairly nuanced, which doesn’t help it get noticed.A: Hey, NBC has Jay Leno now for something like eight hours a day to get in people’s faces. They have Howie Mandel and the girls with the briefcases to get in people’s faces. We’re going to hopefully appeal to the network’s desire to have something a bit more subtle. Q: Do you remember the moment you thought Friday Night Lights could be translated to a fictional TV show?A: When we were shooting the film there were large chunks of the book that were written and put in the script. But the script was 180 pages; it would’ve been a four-hour movie. When the film was over, Buzz and I were talking about all the things we couldn’t explore, issues of education and racism. The way these communities are organized in complex ways. We felt the show was a great opportunity to go deeper. That all took a back seat once we had these great actors. Once we saw Kyle (Chandler) and Connie (Britton) on screen, we knew it was something entirely different from the book. That became the emotional core of the show. Q: Wonderland had a rougher ride than even FNL. Are you glad to see it airing finally?A: Definitely. ABC canceled it after just one episode, telling us it was too intense for their network. It was supposed to be that way. It’s an intense show about a psychiatric hospital in New York. I’m super-thrilled that it’s airing. It’s a minor miracle, really. It’s been frustrating for so long to have this great work that nobody’s seen. Now they can see all eight episodes. We’re calling it a miniseries, and the eighth episode wraps up nicely after the first seven. andrew.dansby@chron.com _________________ "Remember yesterday, dream about tomorrow, but live for today"
