From the gut wrenching news coming out of Fort Hood yesterday to the horrendous news coming out of Orlando today, I am in disbelief at the audacity of people, especially Americans, to turn on each other. As if we haven't been hit hard enough by the down turned economy. With the unemployment rate at a 26 year high, I pray for a renewed sense of compassion and understanding. For some reason, yesterday reminded me of the beginning of the First Gulf War when I was in college. I will never forget soon afterward watching the Super Bowl along with Whitney Houston singing the national anthem. Her delivery was drenched with the proud emotion we all felt. It was simply amazing.
