Very disappointing for Chicago. I had wanted them to win the bid. I now will hope Rio wins in the final voting round vs. Madrid.

I was watching live on msnbc and they keep talking about some phenomenon where some strong contenders get eliminated in the first round, due to continential favourites, or something to that effect. Does anyone know any more about this?

honestly I am ok with it, i was bothered by the whole vilifying of MJ because he would not go pimp it out, but this video broke my heart and I admit made me cry, I felt the pain in the air

Brazilian's rejoice Olympic pick. Very passionate people. Rio is an incredibly beautiful place, and this will do wonder for their economy.
