| I don't remember that song, but Silent Lucidity was a song that I played over and over again. How about this one from the same time? This video used to break my heart. It always made me think of my real dad who was not in my life for 9 years after he and my mom divorced. |

| Queensryche and Faster Pussycat! lololove 80's hair metal. I wouldn't say they were a favorite, but I remember them!! Mrs C....that video always got to me too. My Dad wasn't around much for my first 17 years, then I wasn't around much for the next 17...lol. We became very close the last six years. He passed away last summer. I miss him terribly. |

Doesn't it suck that that's how it works? My dad was out of my life from when I was 5 til I was 14. He was a chronic alcoholic and was terrible to my mom. I don't rememeber alot of what happened between them, but I heard a lot of stories. At 14, my best friend, who lived right next door to me, moved across town. My real dad was her neighbor. He was always sitting on the step watching me, but I never tried to speak to him. One day, I went to my friends and knocked on her door and he said to me, she's not home but should be back soon. I said ok, and quickly started walking away. He called my name and asked for me to come talk to him. I said I couldn't. He asked again, so I went and sat on the step. My dad and I talked for almost 4 hours. He had been sober almost 2 years. He admitted to all the stories that I had heard over the years. He apologized to me and told me that he was so embarrassed at the man he used to be, that even when he became sober, he was too ashamed to come see me. Anyway, my dad died 18 months later, but he loved me more in those 18 months than most people can love someone in a lifetime. I thank God that I got the opportunity to know that. If he had died before we got that time together, it would of sucked to wonder my entire life if he cared or not. I miss him. |
