| Officially opens tomorrow and it's no surprise that I got my tickets!! I'm going on Friday night, I can't wait. This 3 1/2 minute clip is worth watching if you are a Michael fan. I choked up watching it, so I will be bringing my tissues. Oh, my husband is going to be so mad at me, I can hear it already "knock it off" lol. |

| I still find it difficult to believe he's gone. It's really disturbing knowing that physically, he was healthy. |

| Jack'd...Thank you so much. Oh man, that made me sad. I immediately got a lump in my throat and my eyes teared up. I can't wait to hear your review of the movie, if you don't mind. Mappy...I know what you mean about finding it difficult to believe that he is gone. I feel the same way. |

| Awww thanks Phil! That was so good. Do you or anyone else know if "This is it" is only going to be in the theaters for two weeks? I hope I mis-read that. |

| Thanks for the video Phil, I saw that one, it's great. Mappy, yes it's only in the theaters for two weeks. It will probably go to DVD soon though I would expect, more money to be made. hbs23, of course I'll let you know about it, but I should warn you that I'm biased lol. The one thing I'm happy about is that I saw or read, I can't remember now which it was, the director said that they will not be showing what affect Michael's death had with all the back up dancers, etc. So I'm hoping it will just be all about making of the concert and they leave it at that. |

| I do hope I can find the time to go see this movie. MJ sure did look good in the video, but obviously had a lot of pain going on inside of him. Rest in peace, Michael. _________________ "To everything there is a season and a time for every purpose under heaven."

| Michael Jackson is finally a movie starBy: Roger Friedman // Tuesday October 27, 2009 How ironic. Michael Jackson is dead. But in “This Is It,” the filmed chronicle of rehearsals for shows that never happened, he finally gets his greatest wish granted: He’s a movie star. “This Is It” is quite extraordinary. If there was any doubt that Michael was in control of the shows or his decisions, those fears are allayed here. Maybe he was sleeping 15 hours a day. But during these rehearsals, he couldn’t have been more focused or hardworking. It is truly amazing considering the last 16 years of total lunacy to see him so capable. Director Kenny Ortega was smart in his edits. You see Michael almost from the beginning, dancing up a storm, singing without assistance vibrantly. True, he is very thin. But you also see that it’s a result of working out like crazy. Yes, he could have been five pounds heavier. But I dare anyone who sees this movie to try one of Michael’s moves. “This Is It” is also notable for its emotional moments. At the end of a rehearsal of the Jackson 5 hit “I’ll Be There,” he calls out all of his brothers for a thank-you, as well as both parents. It’s a three-hanky moment. Some of his family will be embarrassed now about the way they’ve behaved. One thing’s for sure: AEG spent a lot of money on this show. The production numbers are spectacular and sumptuous. “Smooth Criminal” is one of the standouts. The making of the “Thriller” number in 3D is remarkable. And just wait ’til you see and hear him sing “I Just Can’t Stop Loving You” and “The Way You Make Me Feel” as Michael sings the blues and teaches the musicians how to play his charts. “It needs more booty,” he tells a keyboard player trying to get the right sexiness. Will “This Is It,” dedicated to Michael’s kids, be a hit? Let’s put it this way: I already want to see it again. The fans will see it five times. Expect Sony to extend this release. “This Is It” is the “Thriller” of the year. _________________ I'll have what she's having.

| We are going tomorrow night. We got tickets online last week. My daughter recently turned 11 and during her birthday slumber party, she and her guests began watching Michael Jackson on YouTube and although they knew about MJ they really didn't know just how good he was...LOL. It was fun to see a house full of young people practically gasping at some of his performances. They played his music and videos over and over. He was amazing..... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dtr5IEfsx1g&NR=1

| Jack'd and Phil ..... thanks for posting those videos. Mesmerizing. Michael may have been underweight but there's no denying that he was physically strong ..... those rehearsals looked so physically demanding and he certainly seemed focused and his voice sounded strong and true. _________________ In combat or competition, where the stress levels are highest, you do not rise to the occasion… you sink to the level of your training.

| We saw it last night and LOVED it! The movie is MJ building his stage show. He had a lot of new and cool things planned for London. 3D movie clips for "Thriller" , 3G on stage special effects and at one point the stage is set a blaze! The man was ready! |

| “This Is It” Extended Through ThanksgivingBy: Roger Friedman // Sunday November 1, 2009 Just as this column predicted — Michael Jackson’s “This Is It’s” two-week run has been extended through Thanksgiving. I told you back on October 23 that it could get a one or two-week extension. So far, worldwide, Sony puts the boxoffice take at $101 million. The non-U.S. take is $68.5 million. The domestic take is $32. 5 million. As I reported last night, “This Is It” has knocked off every competitor in the documentary and concert categories for all-time boxoffice. The hilarious part reading elsewhere is that it’s either a hit or a flop or both. Some people can’t make up their minds. It’s easy to see by these numbers that “This Is It” is a hit. Sony and AEG Live got this exactly right. Now, of course, the next step is for AEG to open the show in Las Vegas, with Kenny Ortega and the cast. There’s been some talk of a Cirque du Soleil rendering. But I think this is a mistake. Fans will want to see the live version of the movie. And Cirque du Soleil is way over saturated right now. Plus, they have the Beatles’ “Love” show. I think if Paul McCartney catches wind of it, he’ll convince the Cirque folks to stay away from Michael Jackson. There’s still a lot of soreness on that subject. Whether Michael is dead or alive, the Beatles songs are not owned by McCartney because of him. _________________ I'll have what she's having.

| I saw it today.....it was great.....it would have been an awesome show. I felt for the dancers and singers for as they said "living their dream" and have it end before the product is finished. Michael definitely still had "it". _________________ We did not change as we grew older; we just became more clearly ourselves. Lynn Hall, Where Have All the Tigers Gone?, 1989

granny, it was great wasn't it? Those were the first words out of my husband's mouth when we got outside, that it would have been an outrageous show to see.
hbs23, I promised you a little input, so here it is. This concert that Michael was putting together wasn't your typical concert, it was what granny said a "show". The songs were put to different routines and special effects. As an example when he said "Smooth Criminal", it was done to an old Bogart movie and it had Bogie chasing Michael through a building, they both had guns and were shooting at eachother, ending with Michael jumping out of this huge window. Michael sounded just like he did 10 yrs. ago as well as his moves, he still had it at 50 yrs. old. He was noticeably thinner, but as sweet as he could be. He told the entire crew he loved them, they were family, God Blessed them on numerous occasions and was so polite even when he didn't want something done a particular way. The song This Is It was not performed, it was only played during the credits which makes me wonder if it was ever even going to be part of the show.
I teared up only a couple of times which was surprising for me. I sat in my chair with my Dunkin Donuts napkin the entire time, I had forgotten to take tissues lol. The first time was when he first appeared on the screen and the second was when he sang I Just Can't Stop Loving You, ugh, it was rough. At the end of the song he said that it was for his brothers, then named each one of them by name and said he loved them, then he said to Joseph & Katherine, God Bless you. That must have been a part that was difficult for his brothers to see.
It was long, almost two hrs. but if you are a fan, then you won't mind sitting through it. Everyone in the theater clapped after every song, it was almost like being at the concert. People were yelling out and at one point, I whispered to my husband that I was dying to sing. His response was "please, we don't want to get thrown out" lol, so I just hummed the entire time. You coudn't help it, he even performed a little of the Jackson's songs with pictures that went along with it.
Kudos have to go out to the dancers that Michael hand picked, they were unbelievable. There was a female guitarist that they found on my space, she was awesome, totally blew it away. I saw her today being interviewed on TV and she said that it was life changing experience and she has an album coming out, she sings too. It is a shame for all of them to have come so far (only 3 weeks until the show opened when Michael died), but I have to say that they are so talented that I don't worry they won't make a name for themselves.
Finally, I was glad that they did not include any footage of Michael's passing at all. That would have been too painful to see. Hope you go see the movie, I think you'll enjoy it |

| I did Mood! My Mother-in -law, sis-in-law, wife, daughter and her friend went together. I told my daughter their are no child stars today that will get three generations together, 40 years into their careers just to watch them rehearse! That how special the guy was. The kids loved it! Our showing was about half kids/ half adults. After the movie it seemed like many people didn't want to leave. A kind of mini-dance off of MJ's moves broke out in front of the theater. A little girl wearing (his trademark socks) and one glove schooled everyone. I wanted to jump in and show them the correct way to moonwalk but I don't want my daughter to run away from home.
