| CJ, I know I, for one, am really enjoying reading your updates! I love Carrie Underwood (and have always thought well of Hillary Duff also). This relationship sounds like the right one for Carrie - he's the kind of guy it seems like she needs. |

| lol, funny story about Carrie Underwood. The country folks here in Nebraska dont like her. We have a windmill festival every year in a little town of Comstock, NE. The owner of the farm knew someone who knew someone and somehow was able to get Brad Paisley to become an investor and invite his friends to a big 3 day weekend concert on this farm that is littered with windmills. One of the festivals , right after she won, Carrie underwood was invited. She must have said some snarky remark about the cows or how not to eat beef (she is a vegetarian) and boy were the cattle farmers upset! LOL I adore her, think her music is amazing but just thought I would share! _________________ Super Mod

| I saw this picture on twitpics this morning - it was taken yesterday in Los Vegas. Carrie is there for the ACM Awards tonight. (I think she's nominated for four awards, including Entertainer of the Year). I'm posting it here in the Mike and Carrie thread because the necklace she's wearing is the one Mike gave her for her birthday in early March. People saw him buying it at Holt-Renfrew's Tiffany shop here in Ottawa. She looks so happy. I think I'm officially a romantic! I hope things work out for them - he's a sweet, stand up guy and she seems so nice and down to earth for such a big celebrity. Good luck and happy endings to both of them! _________________ In combat or competition, where the stress levels are highest, you do not rise to the occasion… you sink to the level of your training.

| Mike Fisher has received an invitation to play for Canada at the World Hockey Championship (April 24 to May 10) in Switzerland. Maybe Carrie can get over there for a game or two? All the games are televised here in Canada, so if she's there, we'll be bound to know. Go Canada! | Quote: | Heatley, Fisher, Spezza, Phillips going to world championships
By BRUCE GARRIOCH, Sun Media The Senators will be well represented on Team Canada this month's world championships in Switzerland.
Forwards Dany Heatley, Mike Fisher, Jason Spezza and defenceman Chris Phillips are going to suit up for Canada later this month.

| Hello all.... I love this website and appreciate all the little bits of info that no one else has! Thanks so much! I hope Carrie is able to go over also to see Mike play but I know she will be busy the 25th ands 26th as she will be on CCUSA with Lon H for the countdown. What a nice getaway it would be for her to fly over and see the games. |

| Yup ..... I watched the game on TSN yesterday morning ..... I'm such a hockey nerd! Mike played a great two way game and scored a beautiful goal. He also got in a great open ice hit on Belarusian Dmitry Meleshko. | Cousin Jake, I saw this article and thought of you.http://www.theboot.com/2009/04/30/carrie-underwood-tickled-pink-with-hockey-beau/ | Quote: | Carrie Underwood seems quite happy with her boyfriend, Ottawa Senators hockey player Mike Fisher, though she admits she has a lot to learn about his sport. The singer says she might enjoy hockey more if it got a slight makeover.
"They need to make the puck neon pink, because I'm having a hard time watching TV and following it," she tells Chicago's US99 radio station. "Because I can't see very well anyway, and I don't wear glasses [or] contacts." Previously linked to Dallas Cowboys quarterback (and Jessica Simpson's current beau) Tony Romo, dating an athlete makes sense for the sports-enthusiast. "I love going to any sporting event anywhere," Carrie says. "I don't care what it is, where it is -- I love it."
Carrie also enjoys watching 'American Idol,' the show that launched her career. And even though she won on the show four years ago, she still harbors some resentment about the experience. Refusing to disclose who she is rooting for this season, she explains, "When I was on there, famous people would come talk about who their favorite was," she says, "and if it wasn't me, I hold a grudge! I still can't watch their TV shows." |

| Thanks jfan ...... I wonder if she has time in her schedule to get over to the World Championship in Switzerland this week for the elimination games and then the medal round? (Tournament ends on May 10th) I know she works hard and is probably pretty busy but if she's there for any of the games, TSN will find her during the broadcasts! _________________ In combat or competition, where the stress levels are highest, you do not rise to the occasion… you sink to the level of your training.

| Carrie just blogged us over on the FC site. She had said in a radio interview last week that she was preparing to go overseas. She did not say where or what for. So immediately I thought ....ahhhh she is going to go see Mike play....NOT...ha ha ha She was doing something very special though and I am sure you all will agree. She went back to Africa(Luana,Angola) to "show how that money is being spent and the good it's doing all around the world!" of what AI Gives Back has accomplished with the money donated and all that still needs to be done. She went to an all girls orphanage where she said 80 live in a 2 bedroom house(40 in each room). It makes one realize how blessed we are here in Northern America!! She talks about Malaria and how that was a focus on this trip because it is such a horrible disease that could be avoided with just a $10 mosquito net. There is so much more that she shared but it will be shared on AI this Tuesday so make sure to watch! Also on another note...if any of you have time would you please stream, request ITYS this weekend to get it to #1 this weekend in the States. She is so close and this will probably be the last chance we have to get it there! Thanks... Have a great weekend and a Happy Mother's Day to all!! |

| Thanks for the info dfrogger .... this morning, I read that she had been in Africa last week for AI Gives Back on my hockey board. Lol Canada plays Russia tomorrow afternoon for the gold medal and then the team is coming home. (I think Carrie is performing in the AI finale on May 19th?) _________________ In combat or competition, where the stress levels are highest, you do not rise to the occasion… you sink to the level of your training.

| ^^?that is to funny...I need to start watching the hockey boards for updates on Carrie...lol I am not sure about her performing(if she is I wonder what song she would sing...most likely a cover song??)....on the site it said the AI Gives Back update will be this Tuesday but if you are hearing the 19th I am going to make sure to watch both. Thanks for the info! You know they pre-tape sessions so perhaps she still has an opportunity to be there this weekend at the games! lol...but if she is I am sure TSN would capture it right away! |

| ^^thanks...I love her cover of Home Sweet Home. Heck I love all the songs that she sings! I hope she takes this time off this year to find personal happiness that has nothing to do with her career! I am glad that she keeps her personal life as private as she can but then on the other hand I would love to see her personal life lived so that I can see her happiness with that special someone!(hopefully Mike!) That would just bring tears of joy from me as I really like Carrie and Mike both equally and think they would be perfect together! |

| Hey dfrogger, I enjoyed Carrie during her AI season but I just started following her more closely since January when it was reported that she was dating Mike. (I admit that I've become a bit of a country fan since January and have added a few country artists to my iPod - my DH doesn't know what happened - he thinks I've finally seen the light! lol.) I've followed Mike since he started here with the Senators in 1999. He's a favourite of mine. He's a great two way centre - fast, fearless, tough, soft hands, hard on the body and hard on the puck and he always seems to give it everything he's got every shift. I don't know him, of course, but my husband's company did stone work on his house in Kanata four or five summers ago (I think it was the summer his cottage was being built - '05 maybe?) and my husband said he was a great guy to work for. Low key, down to earth, funny and appreciative. The guys working there loved him. I've never heard anyone here in Ottawa say one negative thing about him. _________________ In combat or competition, where the stress levels are highest, you do not rise to the occasion… you sink to the level of your training.
