I liked Jerry, then intensely disliked him, then was apathetic and eventually, was glad he was a HG because he caused a lot of controversy and in turn, a lot to talk about. I feel badly for his family and him. He's still someone's husband, father, grandpa, loved one and friend.

That's how I always thought when it came to Jerry. He's an elderly man. I know that his age doesn't excuse some of his actions, but it shouldn't have been open season on him either. I don't know, maybe I was just raised differently; but we were always expected to respect our elders even when we didn't agree with what they were saying. I remember my mom's thick brogue warning us, "Someday, Lord willing, you'll be that age and you and yours will have been raised properly and you will be given all due respect in turn." I did not like it when the houseguests made fun of him, isolated him, and threatened him (Memphis).

I respect you tealover. I was also raised to respect my elders. I was also raised to treat others as I wanted to be treated. This may upset some people, but I have to say it. Jerry, while in the house, played down and dirty with the worst of them. He, too, was responsible for isolating people and doing and saying hurtful things. I wish I could forget how horrid he was. I truly wish him a full and speedy recovery. Getting older is tough enough without having terrible illnesses thrown into the mix.

No, I totally agree with you, he, too, was horrible to people at times. I was not a big fan of his. But, it still made me feel uncomfortable. I also agree with you that this illness must be horrible for him, especially when he talked about how important it was to him to take care of his wife. I will pray for him and his family. And, thanks, I respect you too! Smile And, I just saw...Happy Birthday!

Thank you tealover. BB 10 certainly had it's share of nasties. Thoughts of one trigger a domino effect and I can see certain incidents in my mind involving various HG's. Guess this season left it's mark on me more deeply than any of the previous ones lol

I disliked Jerry immensely on BB10, besides Maggot and Cappy on BB6, I can't think of another hg that I disliked so much. He was indeed a BB ass! But, I don't know anything about him really in real life. But, either way, I certainly wish him the best...afterall, it is just a silly reality show!

If Jessie And Dan like him, he can't be that bad outside the house, I think. I've said it before, he was a total ass on the show and I hated his creeper ass, but since then I been warming up to him a bit and was neautral on him till yesterday, had gotten over how I felt about him on BB10. Now, I'm ok with him and I hope he comes through fine from this and has a fast recovery... This sort of illeness isn't a joke, my dad had cancer in '07 so I know how it is, thankfully he came out perfectly well from it in the end, so I'm hoping for the same to happen to Jerry.

These were made by his #1 fan during the show....

(((((((((((((((((((((Dann))))))))))))))))))))))))))))...a hug Very Happy ...just because.

Tealover, me' Irish mom had a beautiful brogue too.
She was very strict about manners and respect and my Dad was strict on other things like dating, make-up and mini-skirts.
My mom could be very confusing with her rules though. Growing up my parents owned 2 : 2 family homes with shared driveways that went to separate garages.
One day my two sisters and I were walking home from school and we walked up one of the driveways and the mean lady next door came out and yelled at us "go walk on your other driveway!!!". Well, my older sister Cathy who was not as timid as me said "this side is half my Daddy's too so stop being so mean"....and my other sister Colleen said "yah, this is my Daddy's too so don't be so mean"...not me, I said nothing. Well out the door came me' Irish mom ...oh boy did she tell off that neighbor....."don't you ever yell at my children again!".
BUT inside we all got a whack on the butt and sent to our rooms till supper time because we talked back to a grown-up. HUH????????? I didn't say ONE FLIPPIN' WORD!
I couldn't stand Cathy and Colleen that day, they got ME in trouble with them...guilt by association I guess.

lol! I can identify with your childhood, Wilde! Irish mom, French dad and near the end of the 'line' when it came to guilt by association. I had a flashback of us lining up to get a swat on the bottom... oldest to youngest ... we were in that line a lot! angel

Occasionally, mom would perform the 'laying on of hands' lol She usually left the physical discipline for 'when your father gets home' LOL There were seven of us and it was oldest to youngest. He adjusted the degree of sting with the age of the child. lol!

Mappy, it is so funny because in my home it was always "wait till your MOM gets home".
If my Mom went shopping with her girlfriends and we acted up while Dad was home alone with us that is what he would say.
My Dad never spanked me or my sisters...ever ever!
But I remember a few times he did give my brother Sean a whack and my sisters and I were SHOCKED!

No, you're not alone adri. It's very sad but my Uncle Francis, who was the 'Ol' Bastard' (he fondly called himself) beat cancer at 85. I'm keeping Jerry and his family in my prayers.

I feel terrible for Jerry, his wife, and his family. I did not have the feeds for his season, but read and saw clips of him. I always came at it with another perspective.

My father was awesome. He could hang with anyone. When he turned 60, he told me that he didn't feel any different than when he was 30---in how he thought about himself. After a few, he could get a tad raunchy. I know that it was more of a "prove myself" type of way. He wanted to fit in with his nephews and such...He was a father figure and friend to them. I miss him.

Well, its finally here. Not sure whats going on. I will try to report
weekly , my attitude about the players and the game. Thank allof you
for the flowers and cards. You will always be in my heart I am cancer
clean at this time. Jerry BB-10

This is his most recent post:

Hey Ronnie and Russell are in the self-destruct mode. Laura will go
home. Next week if her group gets HoH, Russell and Ronnie will go on
the block. If not Jeff and Jordan will go up again. Nothing much
changes until the 5th week when Jury begins to form.

Dislike Chima

Lydia is crying mess

Jessie nicer than I remember him. Doing some good things.

Ronnie will be the sacrificial lamb for both sides now.

In the end, I would love to see Jeff and Jordan be the final two.

Jerry BB10

I love that last line!

I am more happy to see he is cancer free!
I am sure his family is so darn relieved!!

I also think it is adorable that he wants Jeff and Jordan to be the final two.
Unfortunately I don't think that will be the case...I have no clue why but I keep seeing Jeff, Russ and Michelle in the final three.
