| Here's another old recipe that's oh-so-good and as easy as can be!Steak and GravyOne large round steak cut into about six pieces and pounded until tender Flour, seasoned with seasoned salt and fresh ground black pepper One large onion, sliced, and then the rings cut into halves One can of mushrooms (or fresh mushrooms) 2 or 3 cloves of garlic, minced Water Dredge the tenderized round steak pieces in the seasoned flour until they are heavily coated, and then quickly brown on both sides in some olive oil in a large skillet. When browned on both sides, remove from the pan and saute the onion pieces and garlic in the oil. When the onions are beginning to be transparent, add the steak back into the pan, along with the mushrooms. Add water to the pan so that the steak pieces are almost covered, and then reduce the heat, cover the skillet, and cook on low heat for 45 minutes to an hour. (You'll find that it makes its own gravy this way.) Season with additional salt and pepper, if desired. NOTE: You can make this without the onions and mushrooms, but this is how I like it. _________________ MODERATOR Counting down the days till our next trip . . . |

| I make this all the time, too. I also use beef stock. Sometimes I put peppers in it for a different flavor. _________________ MODERATOR

| Well, I didn't get my steak and gravy the other day so I am making it today. In fact, it is cooking right now. I had some red bell pepper so I chopped that up too. It smells good. _________________ We did not change as we grew older; we just became more clearly ourselves. Lynn Hall, Where Have All the Tigers Gone?, 1989

| I'm making it today too, Granny. Just hope it turns out alright because even with a recipe, I tend to suck at cooking. |
