Here's another old recipe that's oh-so-good and as easy as can be!

Steak and Gravy

One large round steak cut into about six pieces and pounded until tender
Flour, seasoned with seasoned salt and fresh ground black pepper
One large onion, sliced, and then the rings cut into halves
One can of mushrooms (or fresh mushrooms)
2 or 3 cloves of garlic, minced
Water

Dredge the tenderized round steak pieces in the seasoned flour until they are heavily coated, and then quickly brown on both sides in some olive oil in a large skillet. When browned on both sides, remove from the pan and saute the onion pieces and garlic in the oil. When the onions are beginning to be transparent, add the steak back into the pan, along with the mushrooms. Add water to the pan so that the steak pieces are almost covered, and then reduce the heat, cover the skillet, and cook on low heat for 45 minutes to an hour. (You'll find that it makes its own gravy this way.) Season with additional salt and pepper, if desired. NOTE: You can make this without the onions and mushrooms, but this is how I like it.

I'll bet it's extra good made with beef stock, Lori! I'll have to do that next time.

I make this all the time, too. I also use beef stock. Sometimes I put peppers in it for a different flavor.

I have never made Steak and Gravy, this is one I will have to try. I will also use stock I love the flavour it adds to any gravy.

Well, I didn't get my steak and gravy the other day so I am making it today. In fact, it is cooking right now. I had some red bell pepper so I chopped that up too. It smells good.
