| I think it's called synergy.. a lot of the scent products, oils, etc can be overlapped in candle making. Should I try to make and offer candles? Should I co-ordinate them with the soaps? Do you all like smelly candles? LOL ------- FYI.. I don't want to make any liquid products: Lots of people have asked about liquid natural soap or shampoos. That is just too much an investment in bottling and labeling at this point. |

| I think that's a great idea. I buy beeswax candles at a local craft fair and I also like scented ones as long as the scent is not too overpowering. _________________ In combat or competition, where the stress levels are highest, you do not rise to the occasion… you sink to the level of your training.

Fragranced candles are really popular in the UK and have been for a good few years. Atm the most popular seem to be food fragranced, espresso/coffee is particulary hard to get as they sell out so quickly and orange cinnamon is particularly popular at xmas. Co-ordinating candles and soap are really nice gift ideas, although for myself I would probably buy different fragrances in each (food aromas for candles, floral/fresh aromas for soap), but that's just me. _________________ "There is no snooze button on a cat who wants breakfast - Unknown"

| I am a candle freak, Nancy! I use them in the warming jars, so they don't have to be lit, but they are on all the time. Same as soaps and lotions, I am very sensitive to smells, so I can't use the flowery or perfumey ones, but love the fruity ones. If you try them, I would definitely be interested in trying them out. |

They are some of my favorites too, along with the berries, cranberry, blueberry, cherry, etc. |

| I mostly use Vanilla, I don't like the strong scented ones either. I also use the heated oil in my bathrooms. The plug in ones. I like the fresh linen scent. _________________ Moderator

| Oooo, fresh linen scent! I love that. And, coffee scent, and vanilla, sugar cookie, and perfumed candles in the scents that I like. Right now, I'm hooked on Bath and Body Works Japanese Cherry Blossom. The other day I was in a meeting and the guy sitting to my left leaned over, inhaled real big, and said, "Ummmm, you smell good." I love that Japanese Cherry Blossom too, Inky.
Nancy I burn candle/candles almost everyday. I would be a customer. _________________ We did not change as we grew older; we just became more clearly ourselves. Lynn Hall, Where Have All the Tigers Gone?, 1989

| They have some great new soy candles that are supposed to be super. I will need to do a lot of researching... and practicing.. Maybe after recital in May. |

| Nancy, soy candles are great and they have very little smoke, in other words, they burn very clean. I have 3 soy candles. _________________ We did not change as we grew older; we just became more clearly ourselves. Lynn Hall, Where Have All the Tigers Gone?, 1989

| Nancy, if you do decide to add candles to your repertoire, you might consider candles of the season. That is how I rotate mine. _________________ We did not change as we grew older; we just became more clearly ourselves. Lynn Hall, Where Have All the Tigers Gone?, 1989

| I love candles too. That would be a nice combination with your soaps and something I would give as a gift. It would be fun to have them complement with scents and colors for a powder room. BTW-your pic with the wine and soap is appealling to me on soooo many levels. Everytime I see that I think if we could just sell our darn last house I need wine, chocolate and of course some gorgeous soap from Nancy! |

LOL - Lori. It will be a while if I do it. It will take time to learn ( it's not as easy as it looks)
I am thinking about doing "soap tarts" it would be like candle tarts but you don't warm them, just place in a bowl in the room. Like potpourri but not as messy. |
