I have found in the 9 months that I have had the site:
1. All those fancy soaps take so long to make and if I would price them as they should be, they would be triple the price
2. Although at craft fairs and with the granola crowd, the cold-processed ( old-fashioned lye soap) is all the rage, almost all my customers prefer the natural goat milk soap instead. ( I love it...that's why I make it!)
I've really lowered the prices on a per ounce basis. The usual rate is $1.00 per ounce. I'm selling the collections at approximately .70 per ounce. Except for the girl power. The fragrances for the perfume knock-offs are a lot more expensive than the single note fragrances. Usually the natural blends ( essential oils) are a LOT more, but I make my own and buy in larger quantities. Did you know that chamomile essential oil costs $110.00 for a 4 ounce bottle?
If you are like me, I cringe at the shipping costs, but it's really a pretty good deal if you order a lot.
