| I agree bubs, didn't like how it was all carried out on television, but I am glad everyone is in a happier place now. Here is a blog from Molly's mom. | Quote: | Hi All: Heard from Molly, and she said that they have done the most "amazing" things and have gone to absolutely beautiful places. She really sounded upbeat and happy. No "big news" that I know of, though. I believe they are leaving NZ for home this Thursday. New Zealand is a day ahead of us, so in essence, they leave on Thursday and get back home on Thursday. I'm sure major jet lag will set in. Hope you all are doing well. You have no idea how much you are appreciated by Jason and Molly. Since she was a little girl, Molly has always been on an even keel. In other words, her father and I can't remember a time when she was down or unhappy. In fact, everyone remembers the happy little girl around the neighborhood. When someone new moved in, she would always go over to the house and say hello. She knew the new neighbors before we did LOL! That having been said, the down times after the show were so difficult for us as a family because it was unusual to hear sadness in her voice. We never heard her complain or talk ill about anyone -- in fact, she was always the one to tell us to give people a break because we didn't know what hardships were going on their lives. She has taught us more about handling life's ups and downs than we could ever have hoped to teach her. For that reason, the tabloid negativity that ensued after the show just caused me, her sister and father so much heartache. Many nights were spent crying in the dark because I wanted to stay strong for her.
She is constantly reminding us to think of the future and the wonderful relationship she and Jason have, so that is what we do. I know that the Lord has heard my prayers for her well-being and happiness, so whatever the future brings for these two, it will be His plan and for their prosperity in love, faith and in their best interests. Thank you all here on Jason's Place for all your prayers, support, love and kindness in the midst of this crazy world. You'll never know how many days you have brought us a smile or peace. |

| All About Bachelor Jason & Molly’s Engagement! When The Bachelor’s Jason Mesnick proposed to Molly Malaney, he picked the picture-perfect setting. Returning to New Zealand, where he had first picked Melissa Rycroft on the show’s finale (a decision he later dramatically reversed on a subsequent After the Final Rose episode), Mesnick and his bride-to-be stayed at the luxurious lakefront Eichardt’s Private Hotel in Queenstown, a five-suite property ringed by white-capped peaks and boasting stunning views from the heart of the resort town. The big moment for Mesnick and Malaney took place on the grounds of Kohara Lodge, an environmentally friendly house on the banks of the Shotover River, where Jason delivered a diamond and platinum ring (from a jeweler in his hometown of Seattle) by placing it in a glass of champagne and passing it to Malaney — after setting the timer on his camera to capture the scene for posterity. This time, at least, they were alone. On a previous romantic outing to the picturesque Milford Sound, the couple’s picnic was crashed by an uninvited guest — a curious bird called a kea. A rare alpine parrot, native to New Zealand and infamous for its cheeky attitudes, the kea flew down on the couple’s picnic blanket and nibbled on the champagne bottle. But the pair took it all in stride and even took a photo of their uninvited guest. No word on whether their new feathered friend will be invited to the wedding. Keep reading to see a photo of the bird. people.com |

| I completely forgot about that trip and them, for that matter. I like happy endings, and I guess he picked the right person. Unfortunately, he should have picked her from the beginning. I am surprised she hasn't dumped him. Does this mean that she is finally moving to Seattle? |

| This is an article I found in Molly's hometown paper.Enjoy! Jason Mesnick is 'Bachelor' no more: Molly Malaney's dad gives his blessing on their engagement GRAND RAPIDS -- Just before former "Bachelor" Jason Mesnick popped the question to Molly Malaney, he sent the Grand Rapids native out on an errand while vacationing in New Zealand. He needed to make a phone call to Mike and Maryann Malaney, of Ada Township. "Jason called us first," said Mike Malaney in a phone interview the day after his daughter's engagement. "He sent Molly out to get her nails done, and he wanted to run it by us before he asked her (to marry him). We've already determined that he's a good guy." Malaney, a 25-year-old Catholic Central High School graduate, and Mesnick rose to fame -- and notoriety -- when the single dad and subject of last season's "The Bachelor" initially chose Melissa Rycroft in the March season finale (taped in New Zealand in January), later changing his mind and asking Molly for another chance. Malaney accepted Mesnick's apology and, from that time forward, the couple were back on, shuttling back and forth on weekends between his Seattle home and her former Milwaukee residence, where she was an assistant fashion buyer for Kohl's department stores. She moved to Seattle "about a month ago," said her father, who added that Molly wanted to have a job there before she moved to be with Mesnick. On October 13, the couple headed back to the very place where Mesnick broke Malaney's heart nine months ago for the ultimate do-over. The duo went as guests of Air New Zealand, who hired them to host the world's first "Matchmaking Flight." A week later, Mesnick asked her to be his bride. "Molly was very surprised; she hadn't expected it to happen right then even though we all knew it was a matter of time," said the proud father. "She was real excited. It was a short conversation, and they hadn't made any plans yet. We just found out ourselves at 10:30 (Tuesday night), so this is all breaking very rapidly." In a June interview, Molly's mom, Maryann, was completely on board with the relationship: "Jason and Molly are so good for each other," she said. "They are wonderful complements to one another." Mike concurred: "They are two smart, intelligent people who obviously did not rush into anything," he said. "Sometimes a long distance relationship is a good way for people to really get to know each other, and they know each other well now. They are ready to take the next step." |

Well, many people pick the wrong one the first time or even the second time around. Hindsight is 20/20...as the saying goes. (IMO, the only thing he did wrong was to agree to have the break-up with Melissa televised). It's good all the way around. Melissa is happy and planning her wedding...so everything is perfect, if you ask me! _________________ "To everything there is a season and a time for every purpose under heaven."

| Jason Mesnick Reveals: Molly was Considered For 'Bachelorette' Controversial "Bachelor" Jason Mesnick says his new fiancée Molly Malaney was being considered to be the next "Bachelorette" before he swept her off her feet. Audiences were shocked when, in March's "The Bachelor: After the Final Rose" on ABC, Jason dumped his fiancée Melissa Rycroft, instead deciding to be with his second choice, Molly. The former "Bachelor" tells Us magazine a week after he proposed to Melissa, show producers "kept asking me if I thought Molly would make a good 'Bachelorette.'" " realized I was not willing to let Molly go on TV and have 25 guys fight over her," Jason says of his fiancee. Jason also reveals to [i]Us that he had already broken it off with Melissa prior to the "After the Final Rose" show. "Melissa is a great girl, but there wasn't any chemistry," he tells the publication. "So I broke up with her after Christmas, about a month after we wrapped ['The Bachelor']." He talks of his televised attempt to rekindle the romance with Molly, saying, "Obviously, I didn't want it all on TV, but I had to take the chance if it meant getting her back. I'd rather have picked up the phone, trust me!" Jason asked Molly to marry him last week while on a romantic vacation in New Zealand. _________________ I'll have what she's having.
